Eco Park, in Foz do Iguaçu, is one of the supporters of the campaign to care for and recover Xingú, an Amazonian manatee calf found stranded on the banks of the Xingú River, in Pará.
The institution has already sent enough powdered soy milk to feed him for the month, but Xingú still needs help.
"Helping this baby is part of EcoPark's commitment to remember that we are all part of nature," said Eco Park's Institutional Coordinator, Igor Morais.
After being rescued by a local resident, the Bicho d'Água Institute, ICMBio, IBAMA and the Military Police sent the cub to the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Pará, where it is being treated.
Morais explained that not only is Xingú only weeks old, but he is also in poor health and needs a very specific diet and proper care.
According to the hospital, he arrived with burns on his skin from excessive exposure to the sun and without his left fin.

Ciscando o Futuro
Helping animals in vulnerable situations is one of Eco Park's missions. Since 2023 it has been supporting the Onças do Iguaçu Project, sponsoring the "Ciscando o Futuro" program, building chicken coops on properties bordering the Iguaçu National Park and printing the first thousand copies of the book "Cuidando dos Cães e das Onças do Iguaçu".
Eco Park
Eco Park tells the story of man's relationship with animals. It has a small farm where you can feed the animals, there are shows by birds of prey, horses, an aviary with various species of birds rescued from mistreatment and a lake where you can go pedal boating.
Residents of Foz do Iguaçu pay a special rate of R$15, while residents of the 14 municipalities bordering the Iguaçu National Park and the 15 municipalities bordering Itaipu Lake have a special rate. Children under the age of six get in free.
To receive the benefit, iguaçuenses and residents of the neighboring municipalities need to present proof of address and a photo ID at the time of their visit.
Eco Park is located at Rua Cruz Alta, 111, behind the Dreams Park Show Complex, on the Rodovia das Cataratas highway.
