Visitors to Dreams Eco Park, in Foz do Iguaçu, will be able to get up close and personal with two of the largest birds on the planet. The space is now home to two new residents. They are two male ostriches.

The ostrich is considered to be the largest bird on the planet, reaching up to three meters in height and weighing around 150 kg. Despite its large wings, it is unable to fly like other birds. On the other hand, it is very fast. It can reach 70 km/h in a race, faster than a Volkswagen Beetle.

To house the ostriches, a special enclosure was built for the two birds.

These two ostriches will join a roster that already includes falcons, owls, ducks, geese, peacocks, eagles, llamas, horses, cows, guinea pigs, goats and sheep.

"Our goal is to have a space that provides families with leisure, relaxation and entertainment, but also that awakens the importance of caring for nature and animals," said Paula Haito, commercial manager of Dreams Park Show, which manages Dreams Eco Park.

Falconry

In addition to the Mini Farm, at Dreams Eco Park you can also immerse yourself in the art of falconry, an art that rehabilitates birds of prey (carnivores) to hunt. You can even accompany this "hunt" under the command of the falconer.

To learn about the techniques applied by the Falconry Center and the flight of the birds, visitors can choose two times: at 10:30 am and at 4 pm. Earlier, at 10am and 3.30pm, there is a horse show.
