With the aim of connecting visitors even more with nature, the Foz Eco Park Zoo in Foz do Iguaçu has started offering pedal boat rides on "Lago da Anta". The ride lasts 20 minutes and each boat can be occupied by up to four people.

The activity can be done from 9am to 5pm, the park's opening hours.

"Here at Eco Park we try to encourage people to disconnect from urban life and immerse themselves in nature and learn about the history of the relationship between animals and humanity. This moment on the pedal boat promotes peace and tranquillity," explained the park's institutional coordinator, Igor Morais.

Before or after your stroll along the lake, you can walk barefoot on the lawn, play with the children on the playground and also visit the little farm and the Immersion of the Birds nursery. Most of the birds that live in the nursery came to the park after being removed from situations of mistreatment or wildlife trafficking.

On the farm, children and adults can take part in domesticating the animals, offering food to the rabbits, goats, guinea pigs, llamas, goats and cows.

"We try to encourage the animals to develop their natural behaviors and thus prevent them from getting bored. Every day they are included in new activities and have contact with new people," said Morais.

However, according to the institution's institutional coordinator, the animals are free to interact with the public. If they don't want to interact, they can move away or go to their shelters.

Presentation of the horse and birds of prey

Another activity to connect with human history is to watch the Crioulo Horse and Birds of Prey performances, always at 10am and 3.30pm.

The presentation of the Horse takes a walk through the history of South America and the Border through the origins of the Creole breed.

The bird flight is a time for education and learning about the protection and rehabilitation of birds of prey that have been taken in.

During the flight of birds of prey, for example, you can watch them search for food and learn about the origins of the art of prey conditioning and its historical importance in the development of society and the conservation of species.

The Eco Park is located at Rua Cruz Alta, 111, and is open daily from 9am to 5pm.

Residents of Foz pay R$15. If they are accompanied by a paying tourist, entry is free. Children under six are free.
