Eco Park offers children under six free of charge

Eco Park, a space dedicated to showing the relationship between human beings and animals, encouraging connection and respect for nature, will offer free admission for children aged zero to five, starting this Friday (17th).

According to the unit's institutional coordinator, Igor Morais, the aim of this Eco Park policy is to bring children closer to nature and animals, as well as to encourage awareness of environmental conservation. "As well as raising this awareness, we know that playing in nature is essential for children's early childhood development," he said.

Experts say that contact with the outdoors reduces stress, encourages imagination and stimulates creativity. "Here at Eco Park, children have the opportunity to live this experience. They can walk around the lawn and visit the Bird Immersion Nursery to observe and learn about the routine of these birds," he said.

The nursery is home to birds that arrived at the ecological park as a result of rescue actions, whether due to mistreatment or trafficking in wild animals. Among the species are kittiwakes, parrots and macaws.

Five senses

Another benefit, according to Daiany Caputti, a clinical neuropsychopedagogue, is that it strengthens children's immune systems and improves the quality of their sleep. When children explore the environment through play, it increases their sense of well-being and relaxation and, as a result, they sleep more peacefully. "Children can follow the routine and even feed the mini-farm animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs," Morais added.

Not to mention the sensory development of the five senses. During the tour, children have direct contact with the sound of animals (hearing), with different textures and sensations such as grass (touch), observe the diversity of animals and environments (sight), smell various smells (smell) and even have the privilege of tasting fruit straight from the tree (taste).

"It's certainly an important experience for intellectual stimulation, but even more so for creating positive memories in the children," said Daiany.

Schedule

The Eco Park is open daily from 9am to 5:30pm. The presentations by the Birds of Prey and the Criollo Horse take place at two times: at 10am and 3.30pm, lasting approximately 20 minutes each. Between these times it is possible to visit the Mini Farm and interact with the animals with the help of the staff.

Between 9 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., you can visit the Mini Farm, which has cows, sheep, rams, llamas, ostriches, mini pigs, giant rabbits, mini goats, among other animals that were important for the formation of societies, and the "Bird Immersion" aviary.

The park is located less than 15 minutes from the city center and five minutes from the Iguaçu National Park, and next to the Dreams Park Show, where there are: Wax Museum, Wonders of the World, Dinosaur Valley, Ice Bar and the Dreams Motor Show.
