Eco Park Foz congratulates Yara Barros on her "Green Oscar" for her work with jaguars

Eco Park Foz, a place to connect with nature in Foz do Iguaçu, congratulates biologist Yara Barros for her work with jaguars in the Atlantic Rainforest and, above all, for winning the world's most important conservation award, the Whitley Prize, which she received this week in England, known as the "Green Oscar".

The Green Oscar highlights nature conservation actions carried out by conservationists around the world. In addition to the title, Yara received £50,000 (R$375,000 in today's conversion) for the development of projects throughout the year.

In October, the biologist will receive another award in the United States: Women of Discovery (Wings 2025), which recognizes the excellence of Brazilian scientists for the environment.

Support continues

Eco Park Foz also reinforces its commitment to continue supporting the Onças do Iguaçu project, which Yara Barros coordinates to protect jaguars in the Atlantic Forest, a biome in which the species is classified as critically endangered.

The Eco Park is a place to connect with animals and is open daily from 9am to 5pm. More information on the website: www.dreamsecopark.com.br
