The environmental actions and the ancient art of falconry focused on the rehabilitation of birds of prey developed at Dreams Eco Park, in Foz do Iguaçu, were presented to guides, operators, agents and the specialized tourism press during the 18th edition of the Cataratas Festival.
Considered one of the biggest events in national tourism, the fair was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Carneiro; the president of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo; the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior; the mayor of Foz, Chico Brasileiro, among other authorities.
Between May 31 and June 2, more than 8,000 people attended the Festival.
Those who visited the Dreams Eco Park stand at the fair could learn about the history of falconry and the materials used by falconers to fly hawks, owls, falcons and vultures.
The bird flight presentation takes place in the park twice a day: at 10.30am and 4pm. Opened in December, the Eco Park has already welcomed more than 37,000 people.
For the commercial manager of the Dreams Park Show and Dreams Eco Park complexes, Luciano Ferreira, it was a great opportunity to strengthen partnerships and present the exclusive attractions in the city, including the great novelty that is Dreams Eco Park.
"We're increasingly consolidating our position as one of the city's main attractions. The event has been a success and we hope to be present at every edition," said Ferreira.
Taking care of the birds
Using falconry techniques, the ecological park rehabilitates birds that have been trafficked or mistreated. At the end of May it received 18 birds that were in an irregular situation. After undergoing assessment and clinical examinations, the birds will be placed in the nursery being built in the ecological park.
Dinosaur Nursery
As well as getting to know the work of the ecological park, festival participants had fun with the fairies and cartoon characters who invaded the Dreams Park Show stand.
While the Eco Park's mission is to take care of the Atlantic Forest and the animals, the Park Show's aim is to provide magic and fun for its visitors.
Even during the Festival, a glimpse was shown of what the next attraction in Dinosaur Valley will look like.
A 12-meter-high volcano is being built that will house a dinosaur nursery and a room where the history of the various dinosaur species that inhabited the earth millions of years ago will be told.
In addition to the Dinosaur Valley, the Dreams Park Show includes the Wax Museum, Wonders of the World, the Ice Bar and the Dreams Motor Show.
Both parks are located on the Cataratas Highway.
