Eco Park invites all the children of Foz do Iguaçu and the entire region to celebrate October 12 by experiencing Eco Lab: Scientists in Action, with lots of games and scientific experiments.
The aim of the institution's environmental educators is to stimulate the pleasure of discovering and investigating the world that exists in every boy and girl. The activities will begin shortly after the Eco Park gates open at 9.30am and will only end at 3.30pm, minutes before the Crioulo Horse and Birds of Prey performance. The institution closes its ticket office at 17:00, but visitors can enjoy the ride until 17:30.
Residents of Foz do Iguaçu pay R$20 to enter the park and can enjoy all the rides. Residents of the municipalities surrounding Itaipu Lake and the Iguaçu National Park pay a reduced rate of R$ 35. Children under six get in free.
Total excitement
Among the Eco Lab's activities is the Erupting Volcano, where children will be able to create mini volcanoes using baking soda and vinegar. According to Eco Park's educational coordinator, Tainah de Souza, the idea is to show children the importance of learning about chemical reactions and how a volcano erupts.
In the Crazy Pool - step in if you can, young visitors will be able to enter and even run around in a pool with water that looks more like jelly. The aim is to teach and demonstrate physics concepts, such as surface tension.
Children will also be challenged to excavate a block to reveal toy parts and dinosaurs in the Lost Dinosaur Excavation.
Finally, in Splash Art: The magic of balloons with paint, children will be able to explore the dynamics of a creative and fun wooden pendulum, painting a huge panel with balloons filled with paint and following the laws of movement.
"The Eco Park itself is already a place where children rediscover nature and enjoy the pleasure of having it close by. But on this special day we want to provide an environment where they also find the fascination of discovery, of how we can understand how nature works," said Tainah. Parents are also advised to bring an extra piece of clothing.
There will also be a mural paying tribute to the women scientists involved in environmental conservation. During the visit, tourists will be able to learn more about the Onças do Iguaçu project.
Little Farm
In between activities, young visitors and their parents can visit and feed the animals at Fazendinha and visit the Bird Immersion Aviary. There's also a playground, a picnic area and, for a separate ticket, a pedal boat ride on the lake.
At the exit, you can also buy plush toys of domestic and wild animals. If you choose to crochet jaguars, you'll be helping the Onças do Iguaçu Project, which aims to protect the felines that live in the Iguaçu National Park.
