The Primate Forest, Brazil's first monkey immersion enclosure, recently opened at the Eco Park in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, has enchanted tourists from all over the world.
Chileans Leslie Fernandes, Sofia Badarcco and Jaqueline Hidalgo booked a vacation day in the city to visit Eco Park Foz. "It's our first time in Foz do Iguaçu. We love contact with nature and that's why we included this place in our itinerary. We were delighted to be able to get so close to the monkeys," said Leslie.
Another memorable moment for the trio was learning the story of Lucius, the owl of the devil owl species who arrived at the unit after being rescued from mistreatment.
Unable to return to the wild because of an injury to his wing, Lucius receives special care from the multidisciplinary team at Eco Park Foz. As part of his daily routine, Lucius practises short flights. The Owl Moment takes place daily at 14:30.

Paraguayan Cecilia Recalde took her children, 14-year-old Samira Quintana and four-year-old twins Sebastian and Leonardo Quintana, to visit Eco Park Foz. "Contact with nature brings peace. And here we could feel that tranquillity. The boys loved the monkeys," he said. Sebastian added: "They're very cute".
Pilar Acosta also came from Paraguay with her family to spend the day at Eco Park Foz. They took part in the Owl Moment, visited the Little Farm and the Bird Immersion aviary and watched the Birds of Prey presentation. To top it all off, they got up close and personal with the monkeys in the Primate Forest. "It's very nice to see and be connected with nature. And the best thing is the service provided by all the staff. Everyone is always very attentive. The children loved it," she said.
Brazilians and Iguassu residents have also enjoyed the Eco Park Foz. Doctor Hellen Marques went with her family to visit the park. "We're from Rio de Janeiro and we've been living in Foz for a few years now. This city is incredible and offers us such lovely walks. We really enjoyed the experience".
Eco Park Foz
Eco Park Foz is a space of over 30,000 square meters dedicated to telling the story of the relationship between humans and animals.
It is open to visitors from 9am to 5pm, at Rua Cruz Alta, 111, behind the Dreams Park Show Complex on the Cataratas Highway and very close to the Iguaçu Falls and Argentina.
